Now, here is something a little different...
This has a very unusual 'raspberry ripple' profile with a subtle creamy raspberry nose, and...well...a subtle creamy raspberry flavour, with maybe a hint of spice. However, this is no cheap California 15% oak-bomb. This is quite subtle and in its own way sophisticated, and whilst I'm not sure where the creamy/vanilla component comes from, subjectively this is quite a different experience to wines that usually exhibit this quality via large dollops of crap oak...
This tends towards the lighter end of the spectrum and at least on day 2 actually has structure and excellent acidity. If a Bordeaux Cru Bourgeois fermented raspberry ripple ice cream instead of grapes, you might just end up with something like this.
Not sure if I would buy it again, but it is very well made with no rough edges, and I can definitely recommend trying it for £5.99 if the flavour profile described above doesn't put you off... As hinted at earlier, I left a bottle overnight in the fridge and it really improved - which was a surprise!
