On the day of opening - very bitter and tannic, no pleasure to be had here. I'm supposed to say it's sophisticated, but so are the tutors from 'Ladette to Lady' and I don't really want to be shown a good time by any of them. Your mileage may vary of course. Each to their own etc.
Day 2 - this has calmed down and is officially a cool wine, I like it, very California. It doesn't tell me what the grapes are, am I supposed to guess Sangiovese just because of the name?
I'm not going to pretend to be able to judge how this one will evolve. I will advise you not to spend ten quid on it if you want to pick up something to drink this evening. But a lovely wine on day 2.
