Heritage Road Merlot Reserve 2008 - Sainsburys

On opening this is a bit too much and has an unpleasant vanilla taste. After 30 minutes of air however, it settles down into something a little more refined and with a redcurrant flavour. The finish is astringent and alcoholic.

Bog standard Australian supermarket wine, and just about worth what they're charging at £3.99. Though I am struggling to get any pleasure from it - the astringent finish kills it for me...

Reduced from £8.99? You're having a giraffe mate.
